Hello Neighbors,
As a reminder, I hope to see you next Tuesday, 9/4, from 7 - 8:30pm at my home, 3633 - 16th St. to discuss a possible compromise with Cafe Flore. The results of the conditions that we come up with at this meeting will be presented to Bevan Dufty and the Planning Commission as everyone tries to foster an agreement that is acceptable both to our neighborhood and to Cafe Flore. Cafe Flore is seeking to extend it's hours to 2am, serving both food and alcohol, and having entertainment until 2am as well.
If you have concerns about Cafe Flore's expansion, and want your concerns/issues to be considered in this agreement, then it is important that you attend this short meeting. Just a few of us cannot possibly represent the entire block or the neighborhood regarding the issue of Cafe Flore. Dennis Richards, Ron Wong, me, and a few others are willing to be your voice when we see Bevan Dufty, but we must hear your voice (there are hundreds of people living within just a few short blocks of Cafe Flore - We need more support....at the very least, we need to hear your thoughts). I did submit our written protest to Supervisor Dufty (thank you to all those who signed), but it seems inevitable that he is seeking a compromise, and is depending on us to come up with it.
If you cannot attend the meeting, then an email expressing your thoughts would be appreciated. Ideally, it'd be better for you to be at the meeting to bounce ideas off of, but if you can't be there, we certainly do want to take your thoughts into consideration. Whether you're for or against the expansion, we need to hear from you.
I will serve snacks and refreshments, starting at 7pm. Thanks everyone - I hope you can make it.
